Sangeet Hemant Kumar, Founder and Mentor of The House of SHK, was born in the United Kingdom and raised in Mumbai, he grew up in a family where education, integrity, discipline and excellence were deeply valued. After studying at Jamnabai Narsee School and pursuing Business Management in the United States, he returned to India in the late 1980s and entered a fragmented, relationship driven real estate market. He saw an opportunity to bring greater professionalism, technology and organised client management into the sector.

What began with real estate gradually became a journey spanning more than 35 years across branding, marketing, media, investment related businesses, lifestyle and emerging technology. These experiences shaped Sangeet’s understanding of how businesses grow, how capital finds opportunities and why relationships often matter as much as commercial transactions. He came to understand that people, technology, information and trust can create possibilities that a single business or industry may not achieve alone.

This experience has led to the evolution of The House of SHK, now positioned as a Luxury Ecosystem Builder & Multi Brand & Business Studio, with the guiding statement, “Connecting capital, technology and visionary leaders to build sustainable growth.” The new identity brings together different chapters of Sangeet’s professional journey under one business umbrella, with an emphasis on connecting people, businesses, capital and technology across industries.

The House of SHK extends beyond a single sector. Real estate remains an important part of its experience, alongside capital, technology, data and intelligence. The idea is to bring established industries closer to emerging business models, combining decades of market knowledge with new capabilities and younger talent. For Sangeet, the focus is not simply on creating another company. It is about identifying opportunities, bringing the right people together and building businesses that can develop over time.

Its growing portfolio includes LuxeVia.ai, focused on artificial intelligence and conversational intelligence for the luxury sector; FracMNY, which is exploring fractional ownership and tokenisation; TeknowXa.ai, built around technology and AI led growth; and The Convergence '26, an experiential initiative bringing together real estate, capital, luxury, innovation and professional relationships. Each has a distinct area of focus, while sharing an interest in connecting people, technology and commercial opportunities.

For Sangeet, the measure of business success extends beyond the immediate transaction. He considers what happens after a deal is completed, whether relationships grow stronger, whether entrepreneurs gain new opportunities and whether capital reaches businesses where it can create greater value. His philosophy remains simple: “Create value before extracting value.”

A significant lesson came from a ₹100 crore real estate transaction that fell apart when trust between stakeholders broke down. The experience showed him that business challenges are not always about money. Information, expectations, credibility and trust can be equally decisive. Financial resources may bring people to the table, but the quality of relationships often determines what happens next.

Relationships have remained central to Sangeet’s professional life. Some people who later became valuable business connections were initially individuals he simply respected. Over time, those relationships led to introductions, investments, partnerships and new ideas. This long term view of professional connections continues to shape the way he thinks about business and the people he works with.

Mentoring is another part of his journey. Rather than simply giving instructions, Sangeet encourages people to take ownership of their ideas and decisions. He sees younger entrepreneurs as individuals capable of building businesses that may not even exist today. By bringing experienced business leaders and emerging talent together, The House of SHK seeks to create opportunities for ideas to develop into ventures and professional relationships to lead to lasting value. The evolution of The House of SHK brings together more than three decades of experience across real estate, branding, marketing, media, capital and technology. What began with an understanding of one industry has grown into a broader ambition to connect businesses, people and opportunities through multiple brands and areas of activity.

As the third and concluding feature in this cover story series, Sangeet’s journey brings the story of The House of SHK into its next chapter. The earlier stages of his career built the experience, relationships and business understanding that inform its present identity. The focus now is on applying those lessons to develop brands, bring capital and technology closer to business leaders, and create opportunities across industries. For Sangeet Hemant Kumar, the journey is not defined only by the years behind him, but by what those years make possible next. The House of SHK stands as the culmination of his evolving entrepreneurial journey so far, bringing together experience and new possibilities under one identity: A Luxury Ecosystem Builder & Multi Brand & Business Studio, connecting capital, technology and visionary leaders to build sustainable growth.
