Ruchi Chandak and Nisha Patel turned a shared passion for interior design into a growing design studio built on creativity, functionality, and personal experiences. Their journey began as students discussing ideas, imagining spaces, and dreaming of creating something that reflected their own design philosophy instead of following changing trends. While Ruchi naturally leaned toward aesthetics, branding, and styling, Nisha found her strength in planning, technical detailing, and execution. Their different skills came together naturally, leading to the launch of The Spot Design in Ahmedabad in 2022.

From the beginning, they believed beautiful interiors should never come at the cost of functionality. Many spaces looked attractive but failed to meet everyday needs, while others worked well but lacked warmth and personality. The Spot Design was created to bridge that gap by designing homes, hospitality projects, commercial spaces, and Airbnb properties that balance comfort with timeless design. Every project begins with understanding the people who will use the space, allowing the final result to feel personal rather than driven by passing trends.

The early years demanded patience. As young founders, earning the trust of clients was one of the biggest challenges they faced. Every completed project became another opportunity to prove their professionalism and commitment. Tight timelines, changing client expectations, and site related challenges became valuable learning experiences that strengthened both their confidence and working style. Instead of allowing setbacks to slow them down, they focused on learning from every project and improving with each new assignment.

One lesson changed the way they viewed entrepreneurship. They discovered that creativity alone could not build a successful business. Running a design studio also required communication, financial discipline, leadership, and constant learning. That understanding encouraged them to build stronger systems while placing equal importance on client relationships and thoughtful execution.

The Spot Design secured its first clients through recommendations and genuine relationships rather than large marketing campaigns. Every satisfied client opened the door to another opportunity. Recognition from Airbnb, MakeMyTrip, and the Design Awards India further strengthened the studio's reputation, though the founders believe trust remains their greatest achievement. "We don't just design interiors; we create stories people get to live in every day," they say.

Today, Ruchi and Nisha continue to build a studio that values honesty, creativity, and meaningful design. Their goal is to expand into luxury hospitality, boutique hotels, vacation homes, and experiential spaces while creating interiors that people genuinely enjoy living, working, and making memories in. They encourage aspiring entrepreneurs to begin with what they have, remain consistent, keep learning, and build something that stays true to their own values.
